Tourist ferry runs to Zhuhai islands nearly tripled

An additional 14 ferry trips between downtown Zhuhai and Xiangzhou District islands will sail daily starting May 1, according to the Wanshan Marine Development Experimental Zone. The new crossings will supplement five current ones.

There will be six additional island-bound departures from Xiangzhou Port Beidi Passenger Terminal off Central Lovers Avenue, including one to Wanshan Archipelago en route to Dong’ao, two to Guishan, and three to Wailingding. Eight crossings are scheduled between Hengqin New Area and Dong'ao.

The adjustments are based on anticipated tourist volume for the peak season. Travel demands during off season can be satisfied with just the current five daily trips. 

Dong'ao Island Passenger/Cargo Ferry Wharf is now being built to provide higher quality service. The main structure should be completed by the end of this year. Construction of Wanshan Island Passenger Ferry Wharf is to commence later this year, according to a zone official.
