New railway network links Zhuhai with more cities

updated : 2018-05-18

Two routes of interprovincial trains from Zhuhai will be extended to farther cities while more Xiaolan, Xinhui, and Zhanjiang-bound destinations will be added to the north section of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity MRT.

According to Guangzhou Railway Group Corp, effective July 1, Guiyang-bound trains will pass through Chongqing Municipality and terminate at Chengdu (Sichuan) East Railway Station. The trip to Chongqing will take nine hours, with another hour needed to reach Chengdu.

Furthermore, the Zhuhai-Changsha route will be extended to Huaihua (Hunan) South Railway Station, with the entire trip taking five hours and 40 minutes.

There are now nine trans-line trains departing from Zhuhai to 47 cities nationwide, eight of them trans-provincial. The number will be increased to 50 on July 1 when the new train schedule takes effect.

The additions, however, are subject to public notices posted by Guangzhou Railway Group Corp on the 12306 ticket-booking website, said an executive from the Zhuhai Transport Bureau.

Those planning to take interprovincial trains are advised to buy tickets in advance.
