Regatta sails embellish picturesque scenery of Zhuhai

A special regatta between 10 teams sailed from Guishan Island of Zhuhai on May 18, creating quite a sight for onlookers.   

The Guangdong Yacht Industry Association, Hong Kong Sailing Federation, Macau Sailing Association, Russian Bagira Team, and sailors from the famous Chinese yachting city of Qingdao participated in the event.

Sailboat Fareast 28 R

Fareast 28 R, a 9.07-m (9.9-yd) racing vessel for a crew of six, continues as the designated sailboat. During last year's regatta, the colorful sails attracted numerous visitors. Many took photos at Haibin Beach (City Parlor) on Lovers Avenue in Jida, the best spot for sailboat watchers.

According to organizer Zhuhai Jiuzhou Holdings Group, this first cooperative maritime water sport in the Greater Bay Area has attracted the largest number of teams. By hosting the event, the company wishes to boost cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. It seeks to promote and build a special venue for marine culture and communication and expand the "tourism plus sports" business.
