Solenis commences plant operations in Gaolan Port

Leading American specialty chemical company Solenis opened a 37,900-sq-m (9.4-acre) manufacturing site in Zhuhai on May 18. It produces chemicals for high-end papermaking and has estimated yearly output of up to 500 million yuan ($78.5 million).

Construction of the $45 million plant in the Gaolan Port Economic Zone's petrochemical section began in March 2017. It has a production capability of 75,000 tons of chemicals annually. The product portfolio includes a broad array of process, functional, and water treatment chemistries as well as state-of-the-art monitoring and control systems.

Solenis, headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, is a leading global producer of specialty chemicals for the pulp, paper, oil and gas, chemical processing, mining, power, and municipal markets.

Solenis (Zhuhai) Chemicals Co Ltd was established in April 2016 in Nanshui Town of the Gaolan Port Economic Zone. The base there is the company's ninth plant in the Asia Pacific region.
