Macao: Park 'n' shuttle is way to cross Delta Bridge

updated : 2018-05-31

Hong Kong-bound motorists from Macao will leave their vehicles at West Parking Lot of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

The lot can accommodate 5,143 lightweight cars and motorcycles after they pass the Border Checkpoint inspection. Travelers will then board designated shuttle buses to cross the bridge.

The Transport Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government revealed its cross-boundary transport procedures at a recent press briefing.

Those traveling to or from Zhuhai can pass through the Zhuhai-Macao Passenger Clearance Building for a one-time inspection.

East Parking Lot on the Hong Kong side can hold up to 3,000 lightweight vehicles for those headed west. Travelers entering Macao or Taipa will be served by two special bus lines.

Shuttles between Zhuhai or Macao and Hong Kong will run more than 200 times daily. Commuters will soon be able to use cross-border buses, taxis, or a limited number of personal cars, it was also announced.

The date of the bridge opening later this year has not yet been set by the Central Government.
