Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport began on June 15 using electronic boarding procedures that allow passengers to check in online and pass security and boarding procedures with a QR code.
Passengers need only log on to the Umetrip APP or self-service check-in interface of the airline departure system to authenticate identity and choose a seat before printing their boarding pass or downloading the generated QR code.
Travelers must present a valid identity document and e-boarding pass at the security channel. Personnel at the boarding gate will scan the QR code and print a voucher, which will be reviewed by a security guard on the concourse or air stairs of a remote boarding gate.
Those using e-boarding passes are advised to make sure their cellphones are ready to display the QR code in advance of presenting it. Children aged below 12, and travelers who need to check luggage, transfer flights, carry an infant, or require special service, should check in at the airline counter.
