Gree and academicians team up for technology firsts

Plaques were unveiled for Motor & Control and Building Energy Conservation academician workstations at the headquarters of Gree Electric Appliances in Qianshan of Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai on July 31.

The high-level sci-tech collaboration units will tackle hard-nut problems in key technologies in long-term cooperation with the government, colleges, universities, and scientific research institutes. Gree is the world's largest air conditioner manufacturer.

Anticipated are significant technical contributions in refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, intelligent equipment, and new-energy vehicles. Developers also expect to break the overseas technical monopoly in intelligent building management systems and enhance independent innovation ability in green building construction.

Rao Fangquan, professor at Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Jiang Yi, professor at Tsinghua University, both academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, will guide the process.

Zhuhai Party Chief Guo Yonghang attended the ceremony.
