The 600-million-yuan ($94-million) project will accommodate 19 standard surgical wards, 40 operation rooms, 38 ICU beds, and sterilization and supplies centers. The first floor will hold the surgery center, nursing units, ICU, medical laboratories, and first-class medical facilities. Total floorage is 68,500 sq m (17 acres) accommodating 900 beds, which will bring the number of beds offered by the hospital to between 2,500 and 3,000.
More than 1,500 parking spaces costing 350 million yuan ($55 million) are being constructed under a nearby green space. Vegetation damaged by excavation will be restored, according to a project head.
On the drawing board is a talent department building on the hillside behind to attract high-caliber medical staff.
