Guilin Drama Creation Research Center

Guilin Drama Creation Research Center (Guilin Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection and Inheritance Center) undertakes the tasks of artistic creation, performance, planning, research and the protection and inheritance of the city's intangible cultural heritage.

Focusing both on the creation and the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage productions, the center has created a series of boutique plays based on folk tales, historical stories and classic literary works that have won numerous awards, such as the following: the Xin Chuan Award for representative inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage; the Plum Blossom Award for Chinese drama; the Peony Award for Chinese folk art; the Tonggu Award for literary and artistic creation in Guangxi; the Guangxi Five and One Project Award; and the Osmanthus Gold Award for Guangxi drama exhibition for nine consecutive years. 

It has innovatively launched cultural brands such as Dramas in Guilin, Courtesy in Guilin, Destined Fortune in Guilin and Affections to Guilin to promote research on artistic creation, creative transformation and innovative development of intangible cultural heritage, facilitate the deep integration of Guilin culture and tourism, and contribute cultural strength to build Guilin into a world-class tourism city.
