The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Vietnamese embassy in China organized a friendship meeting in Beijing on June 28th. Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered a speech and reviewed the history of friendly exchanges between China and Vietnam. His Chinese hosts shared similar stories.

During the meeting, Yu Shuhui, a representative of the staff from Nanxishan Hospital, recounted the hospital's story as an international medical institution that supported Vietnam, sharing anecdotes from her time in the country. She expressed her wish that the friendship between China and Vietnam would flourish like the friendship tree they planted together with the wounded Vietnamese soldiers, remaining evergreen for eternity.

Pham conveyed his immense delight and enthusiasm for the chance to meet with Chinese comrades and their descendants who had rendered substantial assistance to Vietnam. In recent years, the Vietnam-China relationship has sustained a positive and robust developmental momentum. Pham expressed hope that friendly organizations from both nations would deepen cultural exchanges, foster mutual understanding and friendship, and play an even greater role in promoting the enduring partnership between Vietnam and China.

Nanxishan Hospital of Guangxi, also known as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region No. 2 People's Hospital, is a comprehensive tertiary Level A hospital. Its predecessor, Nanxishan Hospital in Guilin, China, was established as an international hospital providing support to Vietnam during the war under the leadership of Premier Zhou Enlai in 1968. By the end of the mission in 1975, the hospital had treated a total of 5,432 Vietnamese wounded and sick soldiers, performed 2,576 surgeries, and provided 779,220 milliliters of blood transfusions. In 1974, the government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam awarded Nanxishan Hospital the First-Class Anti-War Medal.
