The first National Student (Youth) Games is Guangxi's first comprehensive national event in the field of competitive sports. Guanyang is honored to host the Wushu Sanda competition, slated from Oct 14th to 17th, 2023. It is one of the eight hosting counties in Guangxi. Additionally, the Wushu Sanda championship will be held in Guanyang from July 17th to 24th.

Guanyang will also host the 2023 National Youth Tennis Tour Ranking Tournament and China Youth Tennis Tour. The highest-level competitions in the U12 and U14 age categories for the seventh and eighth stations will be held respectively from Aug 12th to 25th and Aug 26th to Sept 8th in Guangxi.

Guanyang has a wealth of experience in hosting sporting events. Since 2017, it has successfully organized three national-level events and 10 regional-level events. The hosting of the Wushu Sanda competition and the Guangxi Guilin event demonstrates its commitment to support Guilin in its efforts to become a world-class tourist city. Moreover, it will further strengthen the achievements of "sports+" in the county, fostering a vibrant atmosphere for mass sports, competitive spirit, and promoting nationwide fitness.

In recent years, Guanyang has placed great emphasis on the development of youth sports. It has taken proactive measures to plan and construct the Guanyang Olympic Sports Park, with high standards. The park boasts a national second-class athletics track, 18 indoor and outdoor standard tennis courts, three 11-a-side football fields, and two 7-a-side football fields. Additionally, Guanyang has attracted the establishment of various sports training bases, including the Guangxi Youth Sports Training Base and the Guangxi Ball Sports Training Center. These bases are currently in the process of applying for national-level recognition from the General Administration of Sport of China.

The construction of the largest outdoor ice and snow sports park in South China, the Guilin (Guanyang) Outdoor Ice and Snow Tourism Training Base, is progressing steadily. Guanyang aims to complete the second phase of construction by December 2023 and commence full operations on Jan 1, 2024. Once completed, it will become the lowest latitude ski resort in China, the largest in South China, with diverse and abundant ski slopes, and the closest high-altitude ski resort to the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN. This project will contribute significantly to Guilin's vision of becoming a world-class tourist city.
