Guilin has achieved results in ecological governance. Xiangshan district regularly inspects and protects drinking water sources to control water pollution. Starting from Jan 31, 2022, the Xiangbi Mountain scenic area has been opened to the public for free, driving up the coordinated development of local accommodation, dining, shopping, and leisure enterprises.

The volunteer service team has been improving the quality of tourism services in Yangshuo county, which contributes to the development of Guilin as a world-class tourist city. During this year's Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, Yangshuo county received 1.23 million tourists, achieving a total tourism consumption of 1.74 billion yuan ($268.8 million).

Gongcheng Oil Tea represents part of the culture of the Yao ethnic group in Gongcheng county. The county government has expanded the cultivation scale of its tea leaves and ginger, striving to achieve its goal of creating a hundred-billion-yuan industry. Gongcheng Oil Tea was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2022.
