Guilin has seen a significant rebound in inbound tourism, receiving approximately 580,000 international visitors from January to September 2024, a year-on-year increase of over 350 percent. This growth is largely attributed to the resumption of international flights connecting Guilin with Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Guilin's airport has also partnered with Air China to launch the "From Europe back to Guilin" initiative, connecting European tourists through major hubs like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. This program has brought over 10,000 European visitors to Guilin.

Promotional efforts included hosting events with Hong Kong travel agencies, Taiwan youth study tours, and roadshows in countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and Austria.

To enhance visitor convenience, over 500 new foreign card POS machines and currency exchange points have been installed at major hotels, scenic spots, and cultural venues, improving the payment experience for international travelers.
