Guilin in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was filled with a festive, bustling, and harmonious atmosphere during the Spring Festival holiday, which ran from Jan 28 to Feb 4.
One of the most anticipated cultural and tourism events this year in Guilin was the fireworks show set against the backdrop of the Lijiang River. In addition, intangible cultural heritage markets, parades, and performances were held during the event, highlighting the new image and attractions of Guilin.
Popular attractions like Binjiang Road, Jiefang Bridge, Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area, and the Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Area were full of tourists from all over the country.
Starting the first day of the Spring Festival holiday, the Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area became a hub of joy with traditional markets and interactive folk customs attracting numerous visitors.
On the second day, food stalls offering Guilin rice noodles, oil tea, and other local delicacies were hits among tourists. The Seven Star Scenic Area featured a Legend of the White Snake-themed parade, and the Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Area hosted lion dances and national music concerts, drawing large crowds.
To ensure a pleasant experience for tourists, local cultural and tourism departments and scenic areas made meticulous preparations. Volunteers in red vests were seen assisting at various locations, providing ticketing services and guidance. In areas like Lipu Fengyu Cave, volunteers offered tour consultations and assistance. Xiufeng district also opened administrative parking areas to the public for free during the holiday to address parking issues.
